Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She is also a producer and director. Her most well-known role is her role as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson as well as an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. The series ended after the seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick got a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline Wuntch in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick, a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian. Sedgwick was of English origins. Sedgwick is a self-described Jewish and has said that she participates in Passover seders.
